Johnny Goode is the President and Co-Owner of MSP Manufacturing, an 83-year-old precision machine shop based in Bloomington, Indiana. Under his leadership, MSP has been recognized in Fortune Magazine and Modern Machine Shop for its innovative use of AI and continuous process improvements.
Johnny has built a strong culture of retention and growth at MSP—over the past two years, only two employees have departed (one due to retirement and another to relocate closer to family), while the company’s workforce has grown by 33%.
Before joining MSP, Johnny served in law enforcement as a narcotics detective and SWAT team member, and in the U.S. Army National Guard as a squad leader in a Recon unit. He credits these experiences with shaping his leadership style, which emphasizes accountability, resilience, and innovation—qualities that have fueled MSP’s continued success.
