Russ was appointed as VP ERP Transformation Technology in April 2023, with the brief to lead all Digital and Technology aspects of the program.
In this leadership role, he reports directly to Helen MacPhee and also retained his seat on the IT Leadership Team (ITLT) reporting to the Global Digital and Chief Information Office.
Russ joined AZ in 2014 delivering a global HR transformation and insourcing of IT services based on the Workday, ServiceNow and Saba SaaS platforms. Since then, his role has expanded to cover wider functional remits and he has led other major enterprise projects including GDPR.
In 2019 Russ joined the ITLT as Head of the Enabling Units business areas for AstraZeneca and held this role until 2023. This covered accountability for all technology related to the Finance, HR, Compliance, Legal and M&A domains.
Russ has over 25 years’ experience in Technology and began his career in Big 4 consulting focused on complex global HR and ERP transformation programs, before moving to Credit Suisse as the head of Corporate IT in 2010 responsible for multiple Enabling Unit functions based in Zurich.
Russ lives in Sheffield with his wife, two children and a “lockdown” dog. He enjoys sport particularly football, rugby and boxing, and is a long-suffering fan of Southampton Football Club.
